People and their Tesla

NY Times Tesla Article

Somewhat prominent in the news these days. The Tesla electric vehicle has been having some issues, catching fire after accidents. Why these electric cars are getting mass publicity now is beyond my understanding.

A vehicle catching fire after an accident is newsworthy, but it does not seem as critical an issue when placed aside other manufactures and their previous mishaps.

The investigation is around the vehicles lithium-ion battery and the concern that, if/when it is punctured, may spark a fire within the engine.

While this issue is quite dangerous, it does not call for wide-spread public panic. Tesla is only attempting to create a new generation of engine, completely free from dependence on gasoline. Instead of drawing negativity from the situation, this fault should be looked at as a way to improve on an already excellent vehicle.
