The affordable care act will be in full swing by January of 2014. According to a USA Today article, 18 - 30 year olds will now be purchasing health insurance in order to balance out the senior applicants. The new argument states more young adults will be diagnosed with a mental illness due to accessible health care.
While we may not want to pay the extra expense by fixing every single American child, it is important that we give them the opportunity. However, does these people really have a mental disorder, or is it all in their head (so to speak). This is not to say that I take this subject lightly, but monitoring the amount of mentally ill should be a priority. The government should also be aware of those who may want to abuse to system
