This same sex marriage discussion still brings so much heat in public opinion. It's a question many people still have, why is this still an issue? Contrary to public belief, there is no true separation of church and state. If there was, abortion, same sex marriage, stem cell research, among others would have been solved by now. And the solution would be allowing them.
Logically, there is nothing wrong with either of that. Stem cells would give people new lives, allowing marriage of gays would give a whole culture happiness, and not pressuring those who want abortion would keep population in control.
Making choices based on logos instead of pathos decreases conflicts, increases production and efficiency, and technology. The question I have is, when will this become a reality?
