Brand Characters Get Their Day in the Spotlight

NY Students Interview of Advertising Week


The week of September 22, New York hosted this years 10th anniversary Advertising Week. This event is a field day for those in major brand characters. With onlookers of all ages, these corporations take advantage of the cheapest advertising possible. In a movie starred by Morgan Spurlock, Super Size Me he performs an experiment asking small children the name of the person pictured in a photo. The majority, if not all immediately recognized Ronald McDonald and his crew, and few recognized real people.

This parade of fictional characters only further enables our children creating furthering the influence of major corporations. The Most Interesting Man in the World and StubHub Ticket were inducted, along with the slogans Just Do It for nike and Live in your world for Sony.
